Minister. Author. Father. Songwriter. Arranger. Guitarist. TV/Radio Host. These are some of the many titles of Micah Dobbins. Born six of seven children to a military father Micah has traveled from state to state throughout his childhood, living in places like Hawaii, Ohio, Alabama, and North Carolina before his father retired at Ft. McPherson, Ga. After moving to Atlanta Micah was enrolled in Tri Cities High School for the performing arts. In their Magnet program he learned acting along with fellow students Kandi Burress and Tameka Scott (Xscape) under Mrs. Viola Turner. It was then at the age 14 that he began writing raps and battling in the hallways.

He created a buzz in the Atlanta scene shortly after as a rapper named Carefree. Under that name he won the Atlanta Blaze Battle (1999), and competed in the Blaze Battle World Championship in New York that aired on HBO. (2000) As an artist he has written and performed with some of today’s most successful talents including Dorian Hardnett (Brittany Spears, Madonna) Adonis Shropshire (Diddy, Mariah Carey, Usher) and Tamyra Grey. (American Idol Season 1, Boston Public, The Gospel) He also performed as opening act for So So Def recording artist Lathun (“Freak It” certified Gold) in many cities while touring and recorded with Japanese International Recording Artists The LL Brothers.

In 2001 he became a Christian and began preaching the gospel. Then in 2002 he married Min. Jamica Lary, and wrote gospel stage plays performing in several Ga. Cities. After working in various jobs for the Church of God Mission, he began writing songs for the choir with his wife Mica. Upon writing several songs together ultimately they decided to form a production company called Psalms Of Praise Recordings, which later became a label. As a writer he has written various styles from CCM, Gospel, Hymns, Pop and Christian Rock.

Since the creation of Psalms Of Praise Recordings he has executive produced five indie albums, “Your Will Be Done” by Kingdom Harmony, “Storms Of Life” by Byron Timothy (Resa Mitchell Report Award Winner), "Moore To The Story" by two time Gospel Choice Awards nominee, and two-time winner of the Youth Gospel Entertainment Awards Marlo Moore, “Breathe” by Lolita Coby, and “The Heart Of God” by Mica. He has written for Gospel Music Channel's Gospel Dream Finalist NeVar Massey on his debut Single “Walk By Faith”, and worked at an Industry consulting business.

Upon forming a new business called True Light Media, LLC. Micah published his first book in 2015, titled From Blaze To Glory, which was a testimonial about his life. After selling out at his book release he then was sought after for speaking engagements in schools, youth conventions, and other functions. He then created a YouTube channel under the same name as his book, gaining a faithful following with live Bible studies and teaching videos. This channel led to him being invited to preach in churches in other states, as well as creating a brand of Tee shirts called “Nonconformity”.

Never one to be idle in 2017 Micah then created his own logistics company, and went full time by 2019. His business continues to grow and has given him opportunity to travel due to work. Being a serial entrepreneur has always been a dream of his and in 2020 he added yet another job under his True Light Media, LLC brand. In partnering with Preeminent Radio Micah signed on to be a radio host, sharing his many experiences under the title “The Micah Dobbins Show”. Shortly after signing he was offered to bring his show to television distributed by Mitzfitz of Media through Roku, Amazon, and Apple TV.
